Several seasons ago, at Wyoming County International Speedway, two divisions (Purestock & Street Stocks) of full bodied stockcars were merged together to create the Super Stock division of today.
Because of popular demand, stimulated by the interest during the Fall of 2006, WCIS would like to add to the schedule an eight race Street Stock ‘Summer Series’ on Sunday afternoons when the ‘main event’ moves to Friday nights. Roughly from July 8th to Labor Day Weekend.
The rules would be nothing new…WCIS would adapt word-for-word the LMP rules to create continuity between divisions. This would even include the rear end gear rule, an even play field for everyone! Additional rule adjustments can be made to include Challengers and Purestocks of the region.
So start to dig them back out and get them fired up! Whether you want to race several times a week or bounce around visiting the speedways of the region, join us for the excitement of family short track racing entertainment.
Casual Sundays at the BullRing will be formatted toward generating young and new interest into the Stockcar Racing Industry. Go carts, scale racers and entry level divisions will fill the schedule card. General admission for spectators will be discounted to about $7, making it affordable for anyone to enjoy!
Additional officials, safety crew, gate personnel, and concession workers will be needed to fill the additional day of competition. Interested people looking to participate in this expanded day of motorsports should call the speedway office at 585-237-2580.
