Lippa wins SST SuperStock Tour at the BullRing

Perry NY, Fifty laps was the distance, and the full-bodied SST stock cars were being highlighted as the feature event. Although the field was light on teams ...it remained full of eager competitors looking to put on a great show for the fans.

Visiting WCIS included representatives from Chemung Speedrome, Dunn TireRP, Mountain Speedway and the Perry BullRing. # 16 of Jay Mudra moved to an early lead followed closely by #28 Todd Stone and Brian Gleason # 64. Eventual winner Bobby Lippa Jr started on the outside pole position but patiently faded back to make a late race charge at the top spot.

Hats off to the crew of the Britney Jack #6 whose strong effort got her back in the lineup after a heat race altercation and broken axel. The team changed out the whole rearend pit side prior to the main event.

With Lippa back on the charge and Mudra out front most of the race, the competition leading to the checkered began to get more intense. On the third mile BullRing, lap traffic almost always comes into play...and in Lippa's favor ..it did once again. To the inside, Lippa made the move on Mudra, forcing the #16 to get caught up behind a lap car. Mudra would end up settling for 2nd but not without holding back the challenge from Gleason who finished in a respectable 3rd place in the first SST SuperStock Tour race of the Season.

The newly built car and new number 47 of Eric Hastrieter would prove to be a worthwhile change as he was crowned victorious in the 4Cylinder feature. Hastrieter piloted the Red #9 to many past season of top finishes, but decided to retire the car and begin the set up process again. The 4Cylinder division at WCIS is designed for easy participation and lots of fun. New interest in racing can be found by visiting the drivers pit side after the Friday evening competition at the Perry Bullring. Spectators are welcome to celebrate with their racing short track hero's face to face as they prepare to load their vehicles back onto the trailers.

The Mini-Cup top finishers included #94 of Michelle Becker followed by her Younger brother #95 Robbie Becker and Daniel Majchrzak who pulled off with technical difficulties. Jesse Harloff #48 broke a chain along with Amy Becker# 86 pulling in early as the race continued.

Fans love to see cars smash into each other and WCIS created the Smash-n-Crash series to make our fans laugh! The events are simple and mostly unique to the BullRing. The "Double Figure 8" utilizes 4or 6 cylinder junkers racing an interwinding coarse designed to stimulate action. Mike Adamczak of Perry won the first of the silly events beating out his friends for the $100 cash prize and trophy. Smash-n-Crash returns Fri June 26th with JunkYard Hockey. Look Out...Here they go again!
