PERRY, NY… Labor Day weekend saw sunny skies and perfect racing conditions welcomed the fans to the Bullring for the annual SST 100 for Modifieds. Also on the card were the TQ Midgets, SST Super Stocks and 4 Cylinders, a concert by Billy D. and a 5000-penny pickup presented by the Bank of Castile. At the conclusion of Sunday night’s events, the fans were treated to a Labor Day fireworks show.
Andy Jankowiak picked up the victory in the Labor Day 100 for the mighty SST Modifieds. He used tire strategy along with track position to get around Joe Evans on lap 23 and led the remaining 77 laps for the popular win. Jeff Patton and Jerry Gradl Jr led the strong field for the start of the 100-lap affair and the first lap wasn’t even completed when Dan Hoag slapped the front straightaway wall ending his night early. The yellows would continue to fly soon after with Sherri Hogan dropping fluid on the speedway and then on the following lap Patton slapped the back stretch wall causing the caution.

Barber Wins 9th SST Modified Feature in 09, Bobby Lippa Jr & Margret McDonald Win @ The Bullring |

Perry NY., WCIS fans and drivers alike enjoyed a Friday night without Mother Nature’s wrath. The nights events where presented by NAPA Auto Parts and included the popular Smash-N-Crash series, which was a big hit with the fans once again as they watch Junkyard Soccer after the final SST Modified feature.
Steve Fuchs #0 started on the pole after winning his first heat race at Wyoming county Int’l Speedway, next to Fuchs was Mike Bliss #72. Green flag is out and Fuchs takes the early lead over Bliss, as they race out of turn two John Barber #01 and Patrick Emerling #03 split Bliss and they are three wide out of turn two heading down the backstretch. Barber in second with Emerling in third and they waste no time catching Fuchs on lap-5 Barber drops to the inside of Fuchs down the back stretch and makes the pass. Fuchs in second Emerling in third, Mike Bliss in forth now find himself in a battle as their three wide behind Bliss down the back stretch, Joe Evans, Dick Kluth and Don King stay three wide down the backstretch through turns three and four. King would have to back out the throttle in turn four to avoid wrecking into the wall. Emerling makes the pass on Fuchs for second Scott Reece and Joe Evens pass Fuchs and are now battling door to door for third. Barber has a 5-car lead on the field at the white flag. John Barber with a great run takes the checkers and his 9th SST Modified feature win in 2009, in second is Patrick Emerling and crossing the stripe in third is Scott Reece. Joe Evans hits the wall in turn 4 on the final lap as the field takes the checkered flag.

PERRY, NY… Wyoming County International Speedway celebrated their 50th Season of Stock Car Auto Racing on the 1/3rd mile Bullring on Friday night. WCIS celebrated with having the stars from yesterday remembering the past and the current drivers embracing the future of racing in Western New York.
John Barber picked up his seventh win on the season in the 30 Lap feature for the SST Modifieds. Barber started fifth and took control early on, getting up front, and putting this race in cruise control in route to the popular win for the Bliss, NY pilot. Ed Weber and Dan Hoag led the field of open-wheelers to the green flag with Weber getting the early advantage. He would be the leader until a spin by Joe Evans brought out the caution. After the restart, Weber would lead until the 4w machine got loose therefore handing the lead over to Barber. A Mike Bliss spin on lap 17 bunched the field up one final time but Barber was too strong in pulling away from Patrick Emerling and Jon Price in picking up his 7th win on the season. Emerling would come home second followed by Price, Joe Evans and Russ Gian.

Point’s leader Brian Gordon picked up his third win on the season in the 25-lap event for the SST Super Stocks feature event. Brian Gleason and Mike Chenaille led the Supers to green with Gleason getting the lead. The East Concord resident took control of the event and pulled away from the rest of the field. However, the 2008 track champion Brian Gordon had other ideas as he passed Gleason after a mid race caution and led the remaining lap in route to the win. Bobby Lippa Jr came up through the field to come home second followed by Gleason, Chenaille and Jeremy Gray completing the top five.

John Barber Wins 7th SST Feature; Hirschmann Wins R.O.C. Feature at Wyoming County Int’l Speedway.
Perry NY, - The Wyoming county Int’l Speedway officials opened the pits two hours early so the drivers and crews would have plenty of time to fine tune their race cars for the day’s big event, presented by Advantage Truck & Equipment. The pits were full with 28 ROC Modifieds and 18 SST Modifieds, SST SuperStocks and Four Cylinder stocks and their crews, as you looked down into the pits you could see and feel the excitement building as the crews prepared their cars to battle on the 1/3 mile BullRing. The main gate opened and the grandstand filled up quickly with fans from all over Western NY for the Race of Champions 75-Lap main event.
The Mighty Modifieds rumbled out on to the front stretch for driver introductions you could feel the excitement building in the grandstands with the crowd on their feet and cheering for their Favorite Race of Champion drivers. Rusty Smith #34 is on the pole, outside pole is Pete Brittian #66 for the 75-lap feature as they come out of turn four to take the green flag Brittian takes the lead and the 11 of Tommy Farrell III swings around Smith for the second spot. Tony Hanbury #42 charging his way to the front moves into fourth, further back Eric Beers #45 is steadily making his way through the field after staring in the 11th spot. Hanbury tries to take third away from Matt Hirschmann #60 but Hirschmann closes the door on
